Savory Pumpkin Halloween Hummus!

Get into the Halloween spirit with this healthy and super simple seasonal dip! Hummus is a great one-step recipe made primarily with chickpeas and a few other ingredients. Did you know? Chickpeas and garbanzo beans are actually the same thing  (“Garbanzo” is the Spanish word for “Chickpea”)! They’re a type of “pulse” – the most widely use pulse in a variety of global cuisines – that are high in both protein and fiber. Use these clean ingredients for a spooky, sweet and savory fall snack that’s sure to please!

Pumpkin Hummus Recipe

Time: 5 min prep

Tools needed: food processor (or blender)

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 can garbanzo beans
  • 1/2 can pumpkin puree
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Tahini
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp roasted pumpkin seeds (to garnish)

 

Directions: In a food processor, blend all ingredients until smooth. Serve in a bowl and sprinkle pumpkin seeds to garnish. Eat with pita chips, veggies or add in a wrap. Enjoy!
