Start your afterschool meal program with Revolution Foods
For many students, lunch at school may be the last meal of the day. An afterschool meal program is their best hope.
When school is out and parents are still at work, children need a safe place to be with their friends, with structured activities, supportive adults and good nutrition. USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provides funding to afterschool programs that serve meals and/or snacks to children and teens in low-income areas.
According to a No Kid Hungry survey:
- Almost half (48%) of parents say they can’t afford enough food each month to meet their family’s needs.
- 59% of children from low-income families say they have come to school hungry.
Afterschool meal programs make a huge difference for students who might not get enough to eat at home, providing not just nutrition, but a sense of security and stability.
